15 million tonnes of electronic waste is produced annually. Which is equivalent to $60 billion of raw material values that we’re losing every year. Currently there’s only one way to recycle e-waste and that’s through smelting, where the materials get extracted through really high heat. This process creates a lot of CO2 and particulate pollution.

Desycle created a process through which the different metals in e-waste can get extracted through liquids. This process doesn’t generate any CO2 and could revolutionise the e-waste recycling process.
